Months of the Year


Janaury Month January - The first month of the year according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, with 31 days, celebrates the first of the year with New Years on the first day. January is one of seven months that has 31 days.

February February - At 28 days and the second month of the year, February according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, is the briefest month of the year. Of note is that February has 29 days on a leap year. Such as the years 2012, 2016, and 2020.

March Month March - The third month of the year March according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, has 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, though colder days can still prevail, with temperatures warm and new growth begins to arrive and spring officially starts.

April Month April - With 30 days, April according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, is the fourth month of the year with 30 days. Characteristic of the month is April’s fool day, that occurs on the first day of the month and is dedicated to playful pranks and the Easter holiday reminding us spring is upon us.

May Month May - A 31 day month, May according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, occurs fifth in the line of the years months. In the Northern Hemisphere the month of May is known for its vigorous comfort as late spring changes to the early summer warming of June while plant life, flowers and trees bloom and birds whistle.

June Month June - The sixth month, June according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, has 30 days. Late June marks the end of spring and the beginning of summer for the Northern Hemisphere with weather getting warm to hot depending on where you live.

July Month July - July according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, the seventh month has 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, the weather turns dry (depending on location, as always) and it is typically one of the hottest times of year while in the Southern Hemisphere it is one of the coldest times of winter.

August Month August - Having 31 days, is the eighth month of August, according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars. August is one of seven months to have 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer is drawing to a close and the heat of the day is still hot but evenings start to cool down.

September Month September - The ninth month, September, according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars, has 30 days. In the Northern Hemisphere seasonally, the dry heat of summer tends to subside around this time of year with temperatures easing and evenings cooling off bringing the first of autumn, around the 22nd or 23rd of the month.

October Month October - The tenth month, October according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars has 31 days. The month rings in the heart of autumn as temperatures hold cooler in the Northern Hemisphere. The trees are painted with new colors and the weather goes relaxed with most growing seasons now ending.

November Month November - The eleventh month of November according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars has 30 days. In the Northern Hemisphere winters cold is coming and the leaves have all but left the branches. Its time to winterize the home and vehicle in the more northern regions and the spirit of Thanksgiving ushers in holiday fare.

December Month December - With 31 days, the year ends with the final, twelfth month of December according to the Gregorian and Julian calendars. Officially winter begins in late December 20th - 23rd, starting a two month progress of harsher, descending climates. While warmth thrives among the Southern Hemisphere as they enjoy summer temperatures and the cherished holiday season is celebrated.
