The Great Prayer Day in Denmark will fall on the fourth Friday after Easter Sunday and at the earliest April 17th and the latest May 21 celebrating a collection of several Christian holy days consolidated into one day.
Celebration\ Observance
People can celebrate this day by walking on the Langelinie on the ramparts around Chistianshavn, which is a old custom dating back to 1747. The evening before this holiday the church bells will ring.
History
Hans Bagger bishop of Roskilde back in the late seventeenth century had decided that all the holy days that were grouped together were causing a problem with people fasting and praying and decided to combine all the days into one day called the Great Prayer Day.
