The End of Ramadan in Egypt is a three day festival for breaking the fasting in Ramadan often referred to as Eid al-Fitr. The date is determined by the cycles of the moon because the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar.

History
The holiday begins at the citing of a New Moon ending the month and beginning the month of Shawwal which ends the fasting. Usually the moon sightings will be seen in Saudi Arabia or done locally in Egypt.
