Maha Saptami is part of a 9-10 day Durga Puja festival. It is considered the holy day of the festival in the Aashin or Ashwina month (September/October) on the seventh day of the waxing phase of the moon in the Hindu calendar.
Celebration\ Observance
Both adults and children spend this time in fun and play. It is a time to really let their hair down and enjoy themselves. Government and businesses do remain open for this restricted holiday.
