Labor Day - Colombia

Labor Day is basically another name for May Day and occurs every May 1rst. It celebrates the work force of the country and the joys of Spring.

All workers, schools and government jobs get this national day off. To celebrate workers enjoy and relax with family and friends to take a day off from their tiring work hours.

History

This day came to be with the industrial revolution when working conditions become quite unbearable. Riots broke out to beg for workers rights and so labor day was formed.
