Labor Day or May Day celebrates workers rights in Hong Kong. This holiday is celebrated May 1st every year unless the day falls on a Sunday and then the following Monday will be Observed as the holiday.
Celebration\ Observance
On this holiday, unions and other organizations gather together and have parades to campaign for workers rights. Also this is an occasion to give may flowers to loved ones. All stores are closed other than airports and railway stations.
History
The Labor Day movement has its origins in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries with workers rights becoming a priority around the world including Greece.
